Dear Parents and Carers 

This edition of our newsletter is a bumper edition! We are off to a flying start for Term 4 and already we have had so many wonderful events for students and families to enjoy. From Inter-School Carnivals, swimming lessons and creating awareness of inclusion through wearing purple, our students have been working and playing hard.

I hope you were filled with a sense of pride and joy as you walked around our successful Art Exhibition titled, "Illuminate". It was a truly awe-inspiring showcase of our students' creativity, talent, and hard work. The artwork displayed was a testament to their dedication and passion for the arts, leaving all who attended in a state of wonder and admiration. The exhibition served as a reminder of the immense talent that resides within our school community and the importance of nurturing and encouraging artistic expression.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation and thanks to the teachers and support staff for their hard work and for the overwhelming support we have received from our school community. Your presence at the exhibition, your words of encouragement, and your recognition of our students' efforts have made this event even more meaningful and memorable. Your support is a testament to the strength and unity of our school community, and I am truly grateful for each and every one of you.

I want to express my heartfelt congratulations to our graduating class of Year 12. Your hard work, perseverance, and dedication have culminated in a remarkable academic journey, and we are immensely proud of each and every one of you. The final assembly and Eucharist was a poignant and memorable occasion, filled with a mix of emotions as we bid farewell to our graduating students. It was a privilege to witness the growth and development of these young individuals throughout their time at our school, and we have no doubt that they will go on to achieve great things in their future endeavours.

Following the final Secondary Assembly and Eucharist, we held a special Presentation Evening to celebrate the achievements of our Year 12 students. This event was a true testament to the incredible talent, passion, and resilience of our graduating class. We had the opportunity to recognise and honour their academic achievements, as well as their contributions to extracurricular activities, community service, and leadership roles. It was a night of celebration and reflection, as we acknowledged the growth and accomplishments of our students over the past years. I would also like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the parents and carers who have supported our Year 12 students throughout their educational journey. Your unwavering support, guidance, and encouragement have played a significant role in shaping their success and preparing them for the next chapter of their lives. Your presence at the Presentation Evening was a testament to your commitment to their growth and development, and we are truly grateful for your ongoing support. For some sixty families this Year 12 graduation was the last for their family due to their last child graduating from Frederick Irwin Anglican School. Thank you for choosing our school and for your support over many, many years. We wish you all God’s blessing for the future.

No doubt you have seen the sad and troubling conflict occurring in Israel and Gaza, I would like to take a moment to ask our school community to keep the people of Israel and Palestine in your thoughts and prayers. The ongoing conflict in the region has caused immense suffering and heartache for countless individuals and families. My prayers are for peace and understanding to prevail in this troubled time. Furthermore, I want to bring to your attention the concerning images that have been circulating on social media platforms regarding the war in Gaza and Israel. It is essential for us, as parents and carers, to be vigilant and aware of what our children are exposed to online. Some of the images circulating are distressing and may not be suitable for young eyes. By actively monitoring their social media activity and engaging in open, honest conversations, we can ensure their emotional well-being and guide them towards responsible digital citizenship.

In closing, I would like to once again congratulate our Year 12 students on their achievements and extend my gratitude to the parents and carers for their unwavering support. Together, we have created a strong and nurturing community that fosters growth, resilience, and success. I am incredibly proud of all that we have accomplished, and I look forward to what the future holds for our school community.
