Community Connections
The links between service and the curriculum allow students to relate the lessons of the classrooms to the realities of the outside world to apply what they have learned in the wider community.
The programmes encourage students to make connections between intellectual and social development, leading to action and reflection.
Current Community Connections:
- Uniform Free Dress Days - each year a different charity or organisation is selected for the Day's proceeds to be donated to.
- Year 7 and Year 12 Children Family and Community Class – Make and donate produce for the PEEL Maternity Unit: Care Packages for Expectant Mothers As part of the Year 12 Children, Families and the Community course the students are required to produce a care package to meet the changing needs of individuals, families, and communities. For the past several years the students have created unique Care Packages which are hand-delivered to expectant mothers and mothers in need, at Peel Maternity Hospital.The students asked for donations from the Year 7 cohort and affiliated members of staff. Donated items such as baby wipes, onesie’s, wraps, knitted blankets, bonnets, booties and jackets, love items such as rattles and teddies, as well as hygiene items including creams, pads, lotions, soaps, and cotton balls were all collected and sorted into numerous boxes.
All students who donated items to this very worthy cause were invited to a morning tea which was prepared by the Year 12 CFC students. Forty-six students and staff attended this special event as well as a very special grandmother who made and donated a staggering number of knitted items for this truly worthy cause.

- Anglicare Sleep-Out at Optus Stadium
- Anglicare Ambassadors (Year 10)
- Relay For Life staff team, and a morning tea for staff.
- Ongoing Cancer Council support – (Biggest Morning Tea and Daffodil Day)
