The Finals Series for the Year 11 Inter-House Tug of War Championships took place on Thursday, October 23rd.

Year 11 House Groups Gordon and Arnold were clearly in 2nd & 3rd place after the preliminary rounds so they went head-to-head in a Sudden-death playoff for a spot in the Grand Final against defending champions, Jamieson, who were undefeated in the preliminary rounds.

The Sudden-death playoff proved to be a real battle with Gordon emerging victorious.

The Grand Final between Gordon and Jamieson was a Best of 3 encounter. The first tug saw Gordon upsetting the favourites Jamieson to take an early lead. They then changed ends and had a really close contest that seemed to go on forever, with Jamieson winning that one.

I told them to catch their breaths and change ends once again for the final tussle.

Gordon snatched a great start to the finale, Jamieson fought back, but Gordon proved too strong in the end taking out the title of 2026 Tug of War Champs!

Many thanks to all the Year 11 House Group Teachers, as well as the House Coordinators, for their enthusiasm and assistance throughout the entire competition.

Kind regards,
Mr Craig Winter
