Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome Back to Term 2!
A warm welcome back to all our students, families, and staff as we begin Term 2. I hope everyone enjoyed a restful holiday and a joyful Easter break with family and friends.
Term 2 promises to be a busy and exciting one, packed with rich learning experiences, special events, and community celebrations. We are especially looking forward to our Learning Journey on Tuesday 6 May from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, where families are invited to visit classrooms and share in their child’s learning progress.
There are many wonderful events coming up this term, including:
- Mother’s Day Stalls on the morning of Tuesday 6 May – a lovely opportunity for students to purchase something special for the amazing women in their lives.
- Photo Day on Tuesday 13 May – please ensure students come in full winter uniform, ready to smile!
- A fantastic Indonesian Cultural Incursion involving puppet-making workshops for all students from Pre-Primary to Year 6, providing a hands-on cultural experience.
- National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 21 May, where students will join others at school and across the country in celebrating literacy and the joy of reading.
- Extension opportunities through the Innovation Challenge and the Da Vinci Decathlon, Class Assemblies; and a wide range of sporting events, including the Inter-House Cross-Country Carnival on Tuesday 10 June.
I encourage all parents and carers to stay up-to-date with upcoming events by regularly checking the school calendar on our website or app.
This term, we continue to strengthen Social and Emotional Learning across the school through the Friendly Schools Programme, Keeping Safe Curriculum, as well as Rock and Water lessons in Years 5 and 6 with Mrs Burbage.
Our Core Values focus this term are Honesty and Compassion. These values are explored in classrooms, helping students understand what they look, sound, and feel like in practice, and why they are important in our lives.
I am pleased to announce that Mrs Nicole Guy has now taken on the role of Primary Administration Officer for the Halls Head campus. She is doing a fantastic job in this position, and we are grateful for her dedication and the positive energy she brings to our school office.
We look forward to a wonderful Term 2 ahead, full of learning, connection, and community spirit.
Kind regards and best wishes
Sue Kirke
