After a false start, the Halls Head Campus were able to come together and celebrate all things sport, through our Inter-House Athletics Carnival for 2025. The weather could not have been better, and the grounds looked magical, for what was an incredible day.
Proceedings started with our annual House march to the seating bays; this is always filled with chanting and plenty of House spirit and this year I think the students lifted the standard even higher. The sprint races were led by our Kindy classes, who kicked off our carnival beautifully and they were soon followed by our Pre-Primary students and continued through from Year 1 to Year 6.
Our ECE students moved off to participate in their own mini carnival, which consisted of vortex throwing, long jump, an agility relay, an egg and spoon race, as well as a bean bag throwing station. It was great to see so many families joining these students for their rotations.
Students from Years 1 to 6 engaged in field events, in their House Groups, where they earnt points towards the overall House Shield. They participated in vortex throwing, long jump, tug of war, hurdles, a flag relay, and Pirates Treasure. Parent help during rotations, was much appreciated.
We finished the carnival with team games and the ever-exciting running relays. The result of the parent/teacher/student race most certainly went the way of both of our parent teams, but I’m sure the teachers will put in some work over Summer and will be ready for the challenge next year…we’ll try!
The results were as follows:
FIAS Halls Head Inter-House Athletics Carnival Overall Winner 2025
- 1st, Arnold, 411
- 2nd, Barrett, 409
- 3rd, Gordon, 402
- 4th, Jamieson, 367
- 5th, Rose, 351
- 6th, Ellis, 347
Again, thank you to families who helped, our amazing staff and the Grounds team for making it a great day. Most importantly, a shout out to our wonderful students who made it the awesome day it was.
