On Friday 8 August, Anglicare WA held their annual Sleepout at Optus Stadium. The Sleepout provides students with an opportunity to experience what it would be like to be sleeping rough, and are challenged to raise money for the Anglicare Street Connect Service. This year leading up to the Sleepout the Anglicare Ambassadors at FIAS organised a Sausage Sizzle and a raffle hamper. Collectively with these fundraisers and personal fundraising the Ambassadors raised more than $2200 for Street Connect.

Events such as the Anglicare Sleepout, gives the students a chance to experience and reflect on the struggles of being homeless and obstacles to getting help that they may not have considered. It also gives the students an opportunity to have an impact on the young people who are less fortunate than themselves, and realise that they can make a difference.

We are very proud of all the Ambassadors that helped with fundraising and the 6 who were able to participate in the Sleepout. If you too would to make a huge difference to the lives of young people who are experiencing homelessness in WA, please consider donating to the Anglicare Sleepout appeal. The link for donations will remain open until the end of the month, any size donation is gratefully received. https://www.anglicarewaschoolsleepout.org.au/t/team-frederick-irwin
