2023 Family Picnic and Bush Dance

School News Wednesday, 22 Mar 2023

On Tuesday 21 March, families from our Halls Head and Meadow Springs campuses joined together at our annual Family Picnic and Bush Dance for an evening of singing, dancing, eating and fun!

Local Indigenous Leader and Elder, George Walley, played the didgeridoo before presenting the Welcome to Country to all our families present. George also invited students up to the stage to sing and perform his original song, ‘Wanjoo, my friend’, which they did spectacularly.

The Mucky Duck Bush Dance Band then followed and got all of our families up and dancing to the bush dance favourites they all love, plus some new added dances.

A special thank you goes to our Prefects who did a wonderful job cooking and serving up the sausage sizzle! We also thank The Ritual Co for serving their yummy bagels and drinks, as well as The Milky Monster with their delicious ice creams.

Thank you to all of our FIAS Families who attended, we loved seeing you there!
