Year 11 Enterprise Student, Imogen McRae started the year undertaking work placement through INSTEP West as part of her studies. Through the subject selection process and conversations with our Career and VET Advisors she believed that a trade was the best pathway.
Although she missed out on a VETDSS TAFE certificate she decided to pursue work placement. After an interview and Induction with INSTEP West she was placed locally with Ballantyne All Commercial Property Services in their plumbing division. Imogen really enjoyed her placement and was described by her employer as “a tradie in training.” Because of her positive attitude towards her placement she has been offered, and accepted an Apprenticeship with the company. Imogen demonstrated a can do attitude and a willingness to do what was required when asked in all her actions with her School Advisors so it came as no surprise when she was offered the position. She is to be congratulated and we wish her all the best as she commences life as a first year apprentice.
Frederick Irwin Anglican School offers a broad range of courses as part of the Enterprise Pathway which enables a student to pick a pathway that suits their individual needs. Students can undertake General courses, Certificate courses on campus, Offsite certificates through TAFE or other Registered Training Organisations or undertake work placement through INSTEP West.
