SunSmart WA School Surfing Titles
On Friday 5 August the Frederick Irwin Anglican School surfing Team competed at the Peel Zone of the 2022 Sunsmart WA School Surfing Titles.
With our strongest team for a number of years we had a very successful day. Congratulations to Hayley Briant and Mia Jacobs who took out the Junior Girls surfing, winning the right to compete at the State Titles! Spike Jacobs and Tom Moody in the Junior Boys Surfing and Lucy Sinker and Annalise Kelly in the Junior Girls Body Board were narrowly defeated in the finals of their events.
Congratulations to all our competitors, they surfed well and represented FIAS proudly.
A special thank you to all parents who assisted with transport and support of our team on the day the most successful team result for FIAS for some time. We very much look forward to competition in 2023.
Congratulations also to Hayley and Mia who progressed to the State Final at Trigg Beach on the 26 August. The girls made it into the semi-finals but were unfortunately eliminated at that stage. The girls did extremely well in very difficult surf conditions, an awesome result for the School!
