Peel Community Kitchen - Halls Head Donations

Anglican Identity Wednesday, 14 Sept 2022

Charity Giving is a very important part of our school’s traditions and it has been wonderful to see the students and families at Halls Head campus embracing these traditions and engaging with service learning.

During August, in support of Homelessness Week, Halls Head campus held a food drive to collect donations of non-perishable food items for the Peel Community Kitchen. The amount of donated food this year was fantastic and will be used by the Peel Community Kitchen volunteers to prepare meals that are served daily, and some will be given out to needy individuals and families.

Thanks to the generous donations from our families who participated in this worthwhile freewill giving, we were able to make a positive difference in the lives of those less fortunate in our local community. Thank you also to our House Captains for their role in organising this drive as part of Homelessness Week and to Reverend James and Mrs Jones for assisting with the delivery of the food.

Opportunities such as this are a wonderful way of putting the School’s Core Value of Compassion into practice.

We have included the lovely letter received from the Peel Community Kitchen thanking the School community.
