Congratulations - Boulder State Title Competitors!
Congratulations to Year 9 student James Mouton and Year 8 student Dylan Bailey, who recently competed at the The Black Diamond WA State Boulder Titles, that were held at Iris Boulders, Canning Vale, on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 August.
A group of 23 competitors from all over WA, battled it out in the Youth male 14 -15 years division, with six representing the Mandurah Indoor Rock Climbing Youth Squad. The competition was split over a 2-hour Boulder Jam, where the competitors had to solve six Boulders, with the top six qualifying to the finals held on Sunday. Mandurah Indoor Rock Climbing Youth Squad had 4 boys qualify for the finals, including Dylan and James!
In the finals, the boys faced four technically challenging boulder problems, in a World Cup format, with a 5-minute time limit on each problem. James managed to top three of the four boulders and walked away as the WA Youth B Male (14-15) Champion!
