ACC Athletics 2022

Sports Updates Friday, 09 Sept 2022

ACC Carnivals are a great opportunity for our students to compete in challenging competitions at a world class facility. Participation in this and other sporting competitions is a great opportunity for our students to challenge themselves against outstanding athletes from throughout the state.

As a school community we can be once again, extremely proud of the participation of our students. Without exception, every student, was exemplary in their conduct and their determination to achieve to the best of their ability, regardless of their position in the field.

I’d particularly like to acknowledge our Year 12 students, Sydney Meares, Shania White, Tianah Flatman, Mark Riegert, William Rugendyke, Michael Baker and Adriaan Van Zyl who despite the demands of Year 12 study took time to proudly represent our school for one last time, some who had been part of our athletics team every year since Year 7.

One of the highlights of the day was Milla Marwick’s outstanding runs to place 1st in both the U19 800m and 1500m, wins in the U14 Girls and U19 Boys 4 x 100m Relays and above all the amazing team spirit and sportsmanship demonstrated by our team throughout the day.

It was an extremely pleasing effort and great experience for the students who competed. When we reflect on what we would want students of Frederick Irwin to be like, it would be just like those students who represented us at this carnival. Thanks to Mr Miguel, Mr Watson, Mrs Booker, Mrs Crane and Miss Taylor who managed the team on the day and congratulations to all team members.
