Year 12 ATAR English and Literature students enjoyed an enriching experience at the English and Literature conference held at Curtin University on Thursday 22 June. With eager minds and a thirst for knowledge, our students delved into a series of insightful sessions designed to sharpen their literary skills.

The day commenced with a comprehensive session on 'Writing Essays', where our students gained valuable insights into structuring and crafting compelling arguments, honing their abilities to convey their ideas effectively.

Next, they embarked on a journey into the realms of creativity with "Imaginative Writing and Micro-Fiction," led by an accomplished writer who inspired our students to explore their imaginations and bring their stories to life in concise yet impactful ways.

The session on 'Composing Creative Non-Fiction' allowed our students to delve into the art of blending facts with the narrative, fostering a deeper understanding of the power of storytelling beyond the bounds of fiction.

To enhance their analytical prowess, our students participated in 'Analysis for Short Answer responses', where they acquired invaluable strategies to dissect and interpret complex texts, empowering them to provide insightful and nuanced responses in their examination.

Undoubtedly, this conference proved to be an invaluable opportunity for our Year 12 students to refine their skills and enhance their readiness for the impending end-of-year examinations. We applaud their enthusiasm and commitment to their literary pursuits and look forward to witnessing their growth and success in the literary world and beyond.
