State and National Representatives Monday, 15 Aug 2022

The IPSHA Junior Speakers’ Challenge was held at Wesley College on Tuesday 9 August. Frederick Irwin Anglican School was represented by two Year 4 students, Suki Ward and Jimmy Wong, who delivered exceptional speeches in the preliminary rounds.

Jimmy, with his speech titled, ‘Lessons Learnt from Pokémon’ and Suki, with her speech titled, ‘Why Smartphones are a Bad Idea for Kids’ were both awarded a bronze medal for their efforts.

Suki and Jimmy confidently delivered their speeches using excellent intonation, expression, and gestures to inform and entertain their audiences.

Mrs Tracey Gray highlighted the talent and hard work of the two students, plus the support of Learning Enrichment Teacher, Mrs Jenni McRae. “It is the work of teachers such as Jenni, her enthusiasm and passion, that allows these students to feel supported and encouraged to take part in competitions such as this”, she said.

Well done and congratulations to both students for their excellent achievements!
