Well done to our Year 3 Soccer Team, FIAS Tornadoes, who recently were commended by the Peel Junior Soccer Association for their sportsmanship:
“I would like to provide some positive feedback for the team that my child's team played against this morning. My child plays in the MDR Joeys Black team and my husband is the coach. The team is made up of entirely Year 2 students. We played a FIAS team of Year 3 students.
"The FIAS coach refereed and managed the game so that it was fair for all the players. He did an amazing job with his team and the game was a far more enjoyable experience as a result. His players were respectful, patient and empathetic. There was no bravado or carry on. The parents were kind and encouraging. I have been involved in kids sports for 15 years, in multiple codes and I have never witnessed such a level of sportsmanship. Please extend my praise to the FIAS team, the coach and the families."
Our FIAS teams that play in the local sporting associations pride themselves on their high level of sportsmanship.
It was very pleasing to receive an email from an opposing team about the conduct of our players.
We are very proud of the FIAS Tornadoes - a great example of the FIAS Sports culture.
