‘Iluka Visions’ – Student Art On Display at The Bunbury Regional Art Gallery
This year, eight Visual Arts students from Years 7 to 11 had their work selected to be on display at the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery in the exhibition ‘Iluka Visions’.
These students are Crystal SING 7AG, Natarcha JONES ARN1, Jessica CHEN ELL1, Meghan BAKOTA ELL3, Lily OSABOFU ELL7, Tiffany CHISHOLM-GARDNER GOR3, Ellie WILSON JAM3, Lachlan STEWART ROS3.
The exhibition included students’ artwork from a range of schools in the south west and the work on display showcased a range of 2D and 3D pieces that use an extensive variety of mediums.
On Friday 14 October, at the opening of the Iluka Visions Exhibition, Tiffany Chisholm-Gardiner was awarded the Iluka Prize.
To be eligible for this prize you had to be in Year 11 or 12 and be exhibiting a piece at the exhibition. An application was required before the opening and this included a written submission that discussed specific areas, platforms and roles within the arts. The prize includes a one week internship at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts in Perth, paid accommodation for the winner and a parent/guardian at a hotel in Perth for the week and assistance with meals and travel.
Tiffany will work with arts professionals throughout the internship and will explore roles within the gallery that involve marketing, communications and curating.
Natarcha Jones was also awarded a Highly Commended certificate while Jessica Chen won the Year 8 Award.
This is a very impressive achievement for the girls, and we congratulate them for their skill and commitment.
