Youth Focus Parent Workshop
This event has now passed.
As part of our pastoral care program, we will be running a series of workshop to parents, teachers/staff and Year 9 students in association with Youth Focus.
Youth Focus are a leading service provider in youth mental health. They have developed a mental health program in association with the Black Dog Institute and supported by the Department of Education that is designed to ‘start the conversation’ around mental health in school communities.
I would like to invite you to our Parent Workshop on Wednesday 7 September from 6.00pm -7.30pm in the Oakmont Theatre (Please see the below flyer for further information about the session.)
This is a free event. If you wish to attend, please visit this link to book your preferred seats in the Oakmont Theatre here at the School. Please note that this is an adults only session.
Our Year 9 students will also be attending a session with Youth Focus on Tuesday 13 September.
The Learning Outcomes are:
- The facts about mental illness
- What it is to be a teenager
- What is mental health/mental illness
- Depression and anxiety
- Fears of seeking help
- How can you help yourself/someone else
- How to bounce back from difficulties (resilience)
I look forward to seeing many of you on Wednesday 7 September.
