I often find that one resource that is underutilised by students and parents is the Student Hub. This is a comprehensive online resource designed to support your child's academic journey and overall wellbeing. The Student Hub is packed with useful tools, information, and support services that can make a real difference in your child's school experience. Below are some of the key features:
House Hub:
The House Hub is the go-to place for everything related to the Houses. This includes the Inter-House Program, schedules for House Worship and House Charity activities. It's a great way for students to stay connected with their House events and contribute to their House's success.
Getting Help at School:
We understand that school life can sometimes be challenging. The Student Hub provides an easy and confidential way for students to report bullying, share concerns about themselves or others, or file a complaint if they feel unheard. Additionally, there are handy links to the Kids Helpline and eheadspace, ensuring that students have access to professional support when needed.
Advanced Standing and Good Standing Forms:
Students can easily access forms for Advanced Standing or Return to Good Standing directly through the Student Hub. This streamlines the process, helping students maintain their academic standing with minimal hassle.
Careers and Study Skills:
This section of the Hub is dedicated to helping students with their future career paths and study strategies. Students can book appointments for career advice and access a wealth of information on study skills, including a link to the FIAS study skills website. It's also full of helpful tips to prepare for examinations.
Wellbeing Tab:
Student wellbeing is a top priority. The Wellbeing tab offers various resources, including how to get help at school, informative fact sheets, virtual chill-out activities, and a selection of helpful apps and websites. These resources aim to improve mental and emotional wellbeing.
Sustainability:
The Student Hub promotes sustainability by providing rosters and tips on how to be eco-friendlier at school. This is a great way for students to learn about and participate in sustainable practices, contributing to a greener school environment.
Course Information:
Choosing the right subjects can be a daunting task, especially for secondary students. The Course Information section is designed to help students make informed decisions about their subjects at each year level. This resource is invaluable for planning their academic future.
And More!
The Student Hub is filled with many other useful pages, tips, and links. There is information about lunchtime clubs and activities and even how to set up your laptop. We are also looking to include opportunities for student to volunteer for Service within the school and in the wider community. We encourage students to access this space daily during their House group sessions and for parents to explore it alongside their children.
By regularly visiting the Student Hub, students can stay informed, feel supported, and engaged in their school community.
