Drama Teacher Selected to Referee at Taekwondo Championships
Frederick Irwin Anglican School Drama Teacher, Mrs Jenny Crutchett, has recently been selected to referee at the 2017 World Taekwondo Championships in Korea, at the end of June.
As one of Western Australia’s leading Referees, Master Jenny Crutchett is both a National and Internationally Qualified Referee.
Jenny has been training in Taekwondo for over 25 years, and during this time she has officiated at numerous International, National and State events.
Jenny said that it is an absolute honour and a privilege to represent Australia, as a referee, having completed her first course 23 years ago.
“It fulfils a lifelong dream, as I have always wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself.
“I would love to get to the Olympic Games, but the World Championships is amazing and in some ways better. There is are more competitors involved in the World Championships and is the pinnacle of our sport.
“I would like to keep gaining experience at International Competition whenever I can,” she said.
Jenny is also a member of the Western Australian Referee Board, being its current chairperson, as well as being the current Referee Chair for Australian Taekwondo.
Apart from her officiating Master Crutchett was a successful competitor for many years giving her an important insight to competition.Tags:
