Dear Parents and Caregivers
I once again have pleasure of inviting all students and their families to attend our annual Family Picnic and Bush Dance. This will be a whole school event and, as such, is for both Primary and Secondary School families. The event will be held on the Halls Head School oval. This year’s event will include a gold coin donation, with all money collected going to the Anglican Bushfire Appeal.
Date: Thursday 20 February 2020
Time: 5.30pm (for 6.00pm start) to 8.00pm
Location: Halls Head Campus Oval (28 Karon Vista, Halls Head)
This is an important occasion on the Frederick Irwin calendar as it will allow all families with students in the School to gather in a relaxed, informal setting on the grounds of our school to enjoy a casual meal together at sunset. Music will be provided by the Mucky Duck Bush Dance Band.
I extend a special invitation to our new families to participate in this function as it is an ideal opportunity to meet other families and members of the School Executive, Primary and Secondary staff. School families are welcome to bring their younger children.
BBTea Bar will be available on the evening for families to purchase a variety of drinks, and the School Prefects will be running a sausage sizzle which will be available for $2 each. If you would like to join in the sausage sizzle, please complete the online form (sent to parents via an email from the School) by Saturday 15 February 2020. If you intend to bring your own picnic, it is not necessary to complete the online form.
Please bring with you all that you need for a picnic with your family and I suggest that picnic rugs and mosquito repellent would be handy additions. (Please note: alcohol is not permitted at functions on the school property when children are present.)
Parking is available via Waxflower Vista, Halls Head, and our Grounds Team will advise where additional parking may be found if overflow occurs.
I look forward to your attendance at this function as we build upon the sense of community that is at the heart of every successful school.
