Dear Parents and Caregivers
I have pleasure in advising that once again Frederick Irwin Anglican School will be hosting a family Christmas Carols evening, ‘Carols in the Quad’. This evening is a whole school event and, as such, is for Primary and Secondary School families from both the Halls Head and Meadow Springs campuses. It will be held at the Meadow Springs campus Secondary School English Block Grassed Area on Tuesday 3 December 2019 from 5.30pm (for 6.30pm start) to 8.00pm. Please note this is a non-uniform evening.
‘Carols in the Quad’ is an important event on the Frederick Irwin calendar as it allows families with students in the School to gather in a relaxed, informal setting on the grounds of our school to enjoy a casual meal together at sunset alongside well-loved Christmas Carols. It is an ideal opportunity to meet other families and members of the School Executive, Primary and Secondary staff. School families are welcome to bring their younger children.
5.00pm Families arrive – Food Trucks available
5.30pm – 6.30pm Student Performers and Face Painting
6.30pm Carols Commence
8.00pm Carols Conclude
Food trucks available on the evening include: Street Fusion (serving ribs, gourmet burgers and seafood), The Curry Truck serving South African style curry, Franny’s Moving Kitchen (serving Korean BBQ), BBTeaBar (serving barista coffee, bubble tea, cool drinks and other beverages), and The Milky Monster (serving monster sized ice cream). I also recommend packing a small picnic basket for the evening as well, should the food trucks prove popular!
Flickering candles are also available for pre-order, at $2 per candle.
If you would like to purchase a flickering candle for the evening, please complete the online form via the email to parents by Wednesday 27 November 2019. If you would not like to purchase the candles, it is not necessary to complete the online form.
Please bring with you all that you need, and I suggest that picnic rugs and mosquito repellent would be handy additions. (Please note: alcohol is not permitted at functions on the school property when children are present.)
I look forward to many families attending this function and building upon the sense of community that is at the heart of every successful school.
