As you know, this year Frederick Irwin Anglican School will be hosting a Christmas Carols evening, ‘Applesauce and the Christmas Miracle – Carols in the Quad’, Tuesday 28 November 2017 from 5.30pm (for 6.20pm start) to 8.00pm.
The night has been ‘themed’ and we are hoping for a good response from families to our story of Christmas through the eyes of a little Australian pig, called Applesauce. The very Australian Christmas story will be sprinkled with a plethora of traditional and contemporary Christmas Carols and songs.
“Applesauce was convinced that there can be no Christmas this year – her heart, where Christmas comes from, was as small as a gumnut and there was no Christmas in it at all. But then something special happens and Applesauce discovers that Christmas does not need to be all about glitzy decorations, fancy foods and expensive presents. It does indeed come from the heart.”
5.30pm Families arrive – Food Trucks available
5.30pm – 6.20pm Student Music
6.20pm Carols Commence
8.00pm Carols Conclude
Flickering candles were also available for pre-order, and can be collected on the evening from the 2018 Prefects (pre-ordering closed Wednesday 8 November 2017).
Please bring with you all that you need, and I suggest again that picnic rugs and mosquito repellent would be handy additions. (Please note: alcohol is not permitted at functions on the school property when children are present.)
I look forward to many families attending this function and building upon the sense of community that is at the heart of every successful school.
