Chaplain
The School Chaplain, Canon Noel Oakey, is an ordained Anglican priest.
Apart from the religious, teaching and co-curricula involvement in the School, the Chaplain“s role is to support the pastoral care provided for students by the staff, as well as provide pastoral, spiritual and religious care for students, staff and families associated with the School. His role engages him in networking this support within the School and with outside agencies should the need arise.
Camps
Whole Year camps are held for Year 9 students and Year 11 students, and an overnight Orientation Camp is held for Year 8 students. The camp experience is designed to encourage and develop initiative and independence, communication, co-operation and teamwork within a group. Relationships between students, and between staff and students, are enhanced as are individuals’ self-esteem and confidence. As important as all of these is the fact that the students have fun.
Year Co-ordinators
A staff member is appointed as a Co-ordinator for each Year Group. Whilst their role is primarily one of Pastoral Care, they aim to build up an overall view of their students and consequently may be involved in discussing aspects of discipline and academic progress, as well as social and behavioural concerns with students in the Year Group.
