Primary Swimming Carnival 2017
Our Primary Swimming Carnival this year was very exciting with 100 races on the program. We were again happy to hold it at the MARC in the outside pool.
The day’s competition started out slowly for a couple of the Houses but by the time the freestyle events were concluded all Houses had gained valuable points. It was good to see the number of children having a go at either 25 or 50m races. Ellis established an early lead in the points and looked like keeping that throughout the day. All other Houses were close with positions changing regularly.
By the end of the breast stroke, Arnold had pulled clear into second place with the other four very close together. Not much had changed by the end of the backstroke events but none of the Houses were in a position to relax for the relays.
The relays were fairly evenly split so resulted in no changes of positions.
Congratulations to all the children who got in and participated for their House. It is always good to see you willing to have a go. To all the occasional swimmers who chose 50m races, well done; it is a hard task!
Congratulations to Ellis for a third carnival win in a row. Ellis is starting to make up for some lean years in the past.
Thank you to the large number of parents who volunteered to assist in our many jobs for the day. Your help is always appreciated and the carnivals cannot run smoothly without your support.Tags:
