Year 11 & Year 12
Frederick Irwin offers 32 subjects and courses at Year 11 and Year 12 level, all of which are accredited with the Curriculum Council. All accredited subjects and courses count towards the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). Three different categories of subjects and courses are operating in 2008:- New courses
- outcomes based syllabus
- students will be enrolled on a Semester basis
- students will receive a mark out of 100 and/or a grade for each unit
- Stage 2 and Stage 3 course content will be examined in the WACE examination
- Existing Tertiary Entrance Examination subjects (TEE) - No change
- existing Year 11 syllabus and assessment structures
- teachers will mark assessment tasks as they currently do.
- students will receive a mark out of 100 and a grade
- Year 12 course content will be examined in the WACE examination
- Existing Wholly School Assessed subjects (WSA) - No change
- existing Year 11 Common Assessment Framework subjects
- students demonstrate achievement of outcomes
- students receive a grade at the end of the year
