School Uniform Policy

All students wear the School uniform and are expected to conform to the dress standards of the school.

Uniform Policy

1. Correct uniform, as determined by the Principal, is to be worn at all times and it must be kept clean, well pressed and in good condition. School shoes are to be well polished, and white sports shoes are to be kept clean. The soles of sports shoes must be such that they do not mark the floor of the Hall/Gymnasium.
2. Dress length for girls must be such that it covers the knee.
3. Hair must be kept clean, neat and tidy. Girls with hair longer than the top of the shirt collar must have it tied back from the face using dark green ribbons, towelling bands or scrunchies. Coloured combs, slides or bands are not permitted. Hair grips are to be clear, brown or black. Boys hair must be kept short, above the top of the collar and be conservative in style. Hair must be the natural colour. Fringes should be neat and not allowed to hang over the face.
4. No jewelry is to be worn with the school uniform except: a watch (not ornate); girls with pierced ears may wear one pair of small plain gold or silver studs or sleepers (only one earring in each earlobe). Boys are not permitted to wear earrings. When required, Medic Alert bracelets and necklaces will be permitted.
5. Make-up and nail polish are not permitted.
6. For special occasions, boys may be required to wear ties in summer.
7. The Sports Uniform is not to be worn to and from School. Students change at school.
8. Black leather lace-up shoes are to be plain.
9. In cold or wet weather, students are to wear the School yellow raincoat, a dark green School shower proof jacket or a School Blazer to and from school. No other outer garment is acceptable. Raincoats are available at the Uniform Shop.
10. A Frederick Irwin school bag must be used to carry books and other personal property to and from School. No other bag is permitted. Secondary students require a School Sports Bag to carry their Sports Uniform.
11. Children cycling to School must wear correctly buckled up approved helmets, (gold or white preferred) and bikes must be roadworthy. Bike racks are provided and bikes should be locked in the racks. In the interests of safety, "double dinkying" is not permitted.
12. All items of clothing/personal equipment must be clearly labelled with student's full name.
13. Boys long socks should be kept up with elastic garters.
14. In Summer, girls white socks should be fine weave ankle length, not long socks pushed down, or thick weave sports crew socks.
15. When the tie is worn, all buttons of the shirt should be kept done up, and the tie tightened around the collar.
16. A School Blazer is an optional item of the School Uniform for Secondary students.

Parents will be notified of a student's failure to observe the above Uniform requirements and repeat instances will result in Detention or further more serious disciplinary action.
