in weekly, one-on-one 30minute lessons with talented Tutors in purpose build rooms.

All Primary students attend Music each week to experience and learn about all things musical. Year 8 students have a Semester of Music where they learn, amongst other things, Folk Guitar and can choose to continue this in Years 9 and 10 – it is a popular course! Year 8-10 Instrumental students do classroom Music to develop their skills and continue to take TEE Music in Year 11 and 12.

To support their Music studies at School, Music students take part in a variety of out of school activities. The Senior Concert Band and Secondary Vocal Ensemble participate in a 3 day camp at Dwellingup, whilst the Intermediate Concert Band, Guitar Ensemble and String Orchestra have a 3 day camp at Serpentine each Year. Students can also perform with the 3-4 Choir, 5-7 Choir, Primary Vocal Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, various Year´s String Quartets Jazz Ensemble I and II or many other small Instrumental groups that perform for School and community occasions.

Four "Fishtrap" Concerts in the wonderful Mandurah Performing Arts Centre are staged at various times throughout the Year to provide students with training in formal concert performance and concert etiquette. As a precursor to these Fishtraps, our Primary students are involved in "Chamber" Concerts where they perform for their parents in the relaxed and safe environment of the Primary Music room.

Whole School performances are held each Year and alternate between a Performing Arts Night where all of our Ensembles perform and a Variety night which involves our Music and Drama students.

In addition to these, our Music students also perform in the various Western Australian Schools Band Festivals, where we have had great success; in 2006 our Senior Concert Band received a rating of "Outstanding" in Division A, its second "Outstanding" rating. This has also been achieved by the Intermediate Concert Band in Division C. Numerous students compete, and excel in community Eisteddfods, particularly in Fremantle and over 60 students per Year take A.M.E.B. examinations organised through and at the School.

A number of Music Scholarships are offered each Year for talented Year 8 and Year 11 students to continue their Musical studies.
