Mission Statement
Our School Library has three main priorities which focus on Information Literacy that will empower students to become independent learners and thinkers:
- To provide a rich and diverse learning environment which is stimulating, responsive and welcoming to our school community.
- To initiate and provide quality educational services in partnership with our community collaborating with our students as we recognise their uniqueness and needs in the learning environment.
- To develop and enhance a culture of reading and enjoyment of literature within the community.
Policies
Students may borrow:
- Primary
Kindergarten - Year 3
2 items for 1 week period
Year 4 - 7
4 items for 1 week period
- Secondary
A maximum of 14 items for a 2 week period
Videos and DVDS can be borrowed as a normal loan.
Newspapers are available to be read in the Library.
Magazines may be read in the Library and also borrowed as a normal loan.
All items can be renewed by taking them to the Circulation Desk unless a reservation has been placed on them.
All items placed on overnight loans by teachers must be returned to the Library by 8.30am the next day.
Students are informed when they have an item overdue. Lost items should be reported as quickly as possible. All lost resources will be charged to the Term Fee Accounts. Refunds are issued if the item is found and returned in good order. If any resource is damaged during loan period then costs of repair or replacement will be charged to the Term Fee Account.
